I’d forgotten about that but I don’t mind what happened and blame Nvidia not Hinterland. If they are going to make money off of others then they should at least get permission from Devs to be part of it.

TLD is one of my favourites but the way they have handled the story episodes isn’t great. It’s all long overdue and they release extra dlc before finishing it off which is kind of bullshit.
Thankfully survival mode is infinitely more fun anyway but I do hope they stop updating the game (from May with the planned graphical updates due) before it loses it uniqueness.
Also it’s on sale right now on Steam for ridiculously cheap so I really recommend you buy it. Like I said, even with some small issue the game is a favourite and well worth even full price.
It is a great game but shame there is no multiplayer.
Slime Rancher would probably be a good introduction to fps controls.
Not much time spent playing this week so just a few short sessions on Skate 3 when I have a spare 20 minutes. I normally just find some realistic spots and make some clips.
If only there was a simple solution to games being too expensive…
(don’t buy it)
I agree with the overall negativity Nintendo has brought upon themselves but videos like this are, like you say, tiresome and disingenuous from the creator.
This video has been doing the rounds but if I remember correctly they are overly negative and are obviously not the target for Nintendo and have no intention of buying the Switch even before all the controversy.
PowerA Xbox controllers are wired, cheap and actually very nice to use.
1943 was pretty good. Brings back good memories of all the Xbox live arcade stuff on the 360.
I played a lot of 1942 on the NES as a kid but never 1943.
As for Battlefield I wouldn’t bother anymore. The franchise peaked with BF3 and everything else since is just awful.
Apart from Eurogamer I basically get all of my information from random people on Lemmy and Mastodon who link to interesting stuff. I don’t frequent any games sites anymore.
Edit: and podcasts but not specifically games related ones.
It’s actually the only game I feel comfortable using comms in. I have social anxiety so it did take me a few months to get used to it but now it feels natural. I’ve rarely come across anything bad either in 2k hours which is nice and it’s more social than competitive.
Squad
I’d recommend it for anyone who played BF2/2142 and even BF3/BC2 back in the day. I really don’t like modern shooters as they are quite frankly shit in comparison but Squad is something different. Be warned though that it has its issues but when you get a good round in with decent squad mates and teamwork it is top tier.
I’ve been playing It Takes Two this week with my daughter and it’s really good. I highly recommend it too.
It’s not standard as devs can choose a few diferent sizes but according to CD Projekt Red the highest capacity available is 64GB.
Also the expensive SDHCe cards and the game-key cartridges because games are too big to fit on the standard 64GB carts. That will add to the cost even more and the whole thing is confusing/laughable!
Thinking about how gaming has changed, for better and worse, always makes me feel old.
They really dropped the ball with the price of it all. Everything I watched yesterday was cool up until the cost…
Survival mode is where the real fun is. Your first 10 attempts will end in an easy death while you learn the game but it will eventually click and you’ll survive for 5/10/50 days and you’ll love it.
