  • Wind and solar cannot set grid frequency.

They just can’t. You need a turbine to set frequency.

And yes, the grid frequency matters.

So yes, we will always need a base load. And what better way than a small modular reactor, keeping the grid local and modular.

Or we can build out so much wind and solar that we have to have massive transmission lines running across the country, and then we would still need to curtail that power during peak supply, while also not getting enough generation when solar and wind fail.

And then you still need a turbine to set the grid frequency.

  • Funny you bring up that couple, because the lack of standards has a through line here.

A man named Roy Cohn was the prosecutor, and he wheeled and dealed to make sure that both Rosenbergs got the death penalty, even if the evidence was a bit weak, especially the evidence against Ethel. Cohn got witnesses to change their story so that he could push to kill Ethel.

Cohn then went on to help Joseph McCarthy run the Red, and Lavender Scares.

And then, later still, Roy Cohn would tutor Donald Trump in the art of personally attacking anyone who tried to enforce the law against him.

The piece of shit finally died of HIV,

  • You would think that. Especially with Homeopathic nonsense with diluting things with water until none of the molecules of the original substance are present.

You’d think that an aspiring Homeopath conman would just start with purified water, and call it a day.

That’s not what happens. Instead they seem to actually use the highly toxic whatever, usually deadly nightshade, and then skip the water dilution.

Look up the Highlands baby teething chews if you like being sad.

  • The actual story of the money changers is worse than most people know.

See, as part of their religious observance, the ancient Hebrews made a pilgrimage to the Temple. This was a mandatory part of their faith, much like the Hajj is for modern Muslims.

Those who were too poor to bring their own sacrifice could buy one at the Temple, but the Temple didn’t take the coin of the realm (the Roman coins), they only accepted Shekels.

So, the Money Changers. They set up in the Temple itself and were fleecing pilgrims of all their money.

In comes Jesus, who flipped tables and broke out the whip, and less than a week later he was crucified.

And this is the only part of the bible that I believe is 100% historically accurate. A peace loving Rabbi threw a fit over the Money Changers and was crucified for it.

  • Hamas was always a “tame” terrorist force.

Or put another way, the only reason why Hamas existed in the first place is because Israel picked them specifically to be the face of Palestinian resistance in Gaza, and constantly paid them millions to keep them in power, while at the same time, brutally crushed any other groups who might have pushed for Palestinian rights.

There were a bunch of news articles shortly after Oct 7th talking about how Netanyahu’s “cash to Hamas” bribery for peace deal had blown up in his face, and no. It did not.

This has been the plan for decades. All Israel needed was an excuse and a somewhat friendly president who could ignore the US’ previous policy of paying lip service to a two-state solution.

  • Superman of the comics (from about the mid-80s onward) would tell the military, politely, to go find a location to fornicate with themselves.

Also the animated Superman. He took would tell them to go fuck themselves. Neither one would actually curse.

That being said, both incarnations would put the fire out, if only to prevent environmental damage.

Possibly by dropping a large block of ice on the building.
